Thinking about having sex? Have you considered the purpose of sex?
Sex is first for reproduction then bonding and pleasure. But most people forget the first part and try to find ways to prevent pregnancy while experiencing the other two purposes of sex.
With new advances, humans have come up with several ways to try and prevent pregnancies; pills, shots, condoms…you name it. BUT the only 100%, sure shootin’ way is to not have sex. (1)
That is why it is important for us to evaluate what a pregnancy would do to our life before having sex.
Some good questions to ask are:
- Are you mentally ready to be raising a child?
- If you are in high school/college, do you see yourself pregnant before graduating?
- Is the person you’re with the type of man/woman you want to parent your child?
- Are you financially able to support a child right now?
- Would you consider adoption?
- Would your family be supportive?
If you answered no to any of these questions, then you really should reconsider having sex or you may have an unexpected pregnancy.
